Magazine Cover and Spreads

For this school project, I designed a magazine cover and multiple interior pages, focusing on visual storytelling, layout composition, and editorial design. My goal was to create a cohesive and engaging reading experience while balancing text, imagery, and whitespace effectively.

Research & Concept Development – I started by analyzing industry trends, exploring typography choices, and defining a visual direction that aligned with the magazine’s theme.

Layout Design – Using grid systems and typographic hierarchy, I structured the pages for readability and aesthetic appeal.

Image Selection & Editing – I curated high-quality images and adjusted them to enhance visual harmony with the content.

Final Refinements – I fine-tuned the details, ensuring consistency in branding, colors, and typography.

Balancing Creativity with Readability – I learned the importance of structuring content in a way that is both visually striking and easy to read.

Typography & Hierarchy – Choosing the right typefaces and establishing a clear typographic hierarchy was essential to guiding the reader’s eye through the pages.

Time Management – Working on multiple pages required effective planning to maintain quality and meet deadlines.

This project reinforced my skills in editorial design, typography, and layout composition, deepening my understanding of how to create visually compelling and functional designs. It was a valuable hands-on experience that helped me refine my ability to design for print and digital publications.
